The Mulliner division will be celebrating Bentley's 100th anniversary next year with the release of a Mulsanne special edition. It is a tribute to the company's founder, W.O. Bentley, and even contains a portion of one of his own cars.
The special model that can be purchased on either a long-wheelbase or regular-wheelbase Mulsanne or Mulsanne Speed is inspired by the 1930 8 Litre Bentley that W.O. was using as his personal vehicle. Its influence can be felt throughout the interior, including a Mulliner illuminated cocktail cabinet that features an open display window that displays a piece of the original crankshaft of the 8 Litre that is displayed inside.
Other highlights include a chrome-colored application running across the back of the car with an air vent with a photoetched B shape that features W.O. his signature front grille designed after the 1930s-appropriate Onyx color of the limited edition, and an optional chrome-colored application that wraps around the lower spoilers left and right. The front grille also features distinct design, featuring a chrome shell replacing the body-color mesh of the Mulsanne. It also has the Flying B Logo.
A key box engraved with the Bentley wings can hold two keys, and comes with a black flock lining, while key pouches can be purchased to complement or contrast the key box. The set includes a custom 1:18 scale model of the 8 Litre and flying paperweight, plus a printed brochure featuring previously unpublished images of the original 1930s 8 Litre.
